Originally called the “Sinfolario” Orchestra from “Lario”, the ancient name of Lake Como the orchestra represents the most excellent testimonial of the Como lake.
The orchestra was crated in 2000 and in its 20 years of activity did more more than 1000 concerts all around the world. The peculiarity of the orchestra lies in its versatile nature, and it is precisely for this capacity that today it is often requested both for the opera repertoire, and for the symphonic but also operettistic repertoire, soundtracks, and up to light music.
The first tour of LCPO was realized in France in 2005 (crowned by a prestigious concert in Paris) and in the following year here was the second tour with the production of G.Puccini’s Tosca in Lucerne. To remember the one in 2009, which saw the orchestra successfully involved in the Italian Festival that took place in Barhein in the United Arab Emirates. From 2007 to 2009 the orchestra was invited to the Derby Theater in Milan and to the Ciak Theater (Smeraldo) for the representation of the operas on the billboard and co-produced with the Milan Opera House; from 2007 to 2010 she was hired by the Municipality of Milan for the summer opera seasons, held at the Castello Sforzesco. From September 2008 she inaugurated her first official season in the city of Lecco, inviting internationally renowned conductors and soloists for the occasion from all over the world (Russia, France, Greece, Portugal, USA).
In 2010 the orchestra participated in Luca Lucini’s film La donna della mia vita (recording at the Teatro Coccia in Novara). Not least the production of opera in the Italian football stadiums: in 2012 Aida at the S.Siro stadium in Milan (with Dimitra Theodossiou and Valter Fraccaro) and Nabucco at the Olympic stadium in Turin. Since 2009, the Lombardy Region and the Italy-Switzerland cross-border cooperation program have awarded the orchestra with funding for a project completed in 2011, with the performance of 48 sacred music concerts in the province of Lecco, Como and in Switzerland.
Worth noting is the feedback from the public and critics for the organization of the “Bellano Lirica” ​​Festival on Lake Como, which since 2005 has punctually recorded “sold out” in August, bringing a real opera season to the lake.
In March 2015 he participated in the “Grand Prix of the Opera” at the prestigious Teatro Regio di Parma, well-represented and obtaining unanimous approval from the public and sector critics. In 2016 she performed at the Arcimboldi Theater in Milan, Villa Erba in Cernobbio and at the Teatro Comunale in Varese with the singer-songwriter Davide Van De Sfroos, combining the classical with the folk and once again showing her remarkable ductility.
